Last year, when the Eugene City Council debated what to do about illegal public drinking in private lots outside Autzen Stadium, few people who were violating the city anti-drinking ordinance were being cited by police, and some did not even know they were subject to a city code that limited partying outside Autzen before games.

So on Saturday, about a year after the council voted 6-2 to extend to the private lots north of the stadium the same exemption from the city's public drinking ban that tailgaters on the UO's Autzen lots have long enjoyed, many fans didn't even notice anything was different.
