Article Excerpt FOR half a century, animal nutritionists at Cargill Inc. have worked to develop feeds that meet the nutritional needs of animals--research that, in recent years, has also embraced animal health, environmental sustainability and the nutritional needs of people.
The research takes place at the Cargill Animal Nutrition Innovation Campus in Elk River, Minn., a 960-acre farm that grows alfalfa and feed grains, houses livestock and poultry, includes a feed mill and provides labs and offices for 100 people, including 26 Ph.D. nutritionists.
The campus is marking its 50th year this summer, having relocated from Missouri in 1958.
