A YOUNG London-based designer, still at college, has scooped the Best Emerging Interior Designer 2008 title in a nationwide competition. Winner Linda Boronkay created a dramatic scheme to remodel a bachelor pad.

She is a 25-year-old second-year student at London Metropolitan University, whose work goes on show at next month's prestigious 100% Design show at Earls Court.

Hungarian-born Boronkay's attention-grabbing apartment computer generated is cool, sharp and geometric. Dark, moody colours contrast with a vivid band of lime green at floor level running in a diagonal stripe into the living area.
