LSU has reached out to the Oregon Coast to land its latest basketball recruit.

Siuslaw senior Ben Voogd, who averaged 28 points, 8.5 assists and 7.5 rebounds per game as a junior, gave a verbal commitment to join the Tigers following his visit to Baton Rouge, La., last weekend. He will sign a letter of intent with LSU when the early signing period begins Nov. 10.
