SPRINGFIELD - As a Britney Spears song blared from a video game, librarian Carrie Schindele-Cupples reached out and did the unthinkable for those of her oft-shushing profession - she turned it up.

Around her, a handful of teens had turned a room of the Springfield Public Library on Wednesday into their own gaming haven: swapping turns at Guitar Hero, pounding floor pads playing Dance Dance Revolution and swinging controllers during Nintendo Wii baseball.
