Talks between Jane Higdon's widower and Ireland Trucking Co. reached a conclusion Wednesday when the company agreed to donate more than $1 million to the Jane Higdon Memorial Fund over the next 20 years to promote bicycle safety.

Higdon, 47, was killed in an accident on Territorial Highway on May 31, 2006, when her bicycle slipped under the rear wheels of a loaded logging truck. The Eugene woman was a triathlete, author and developer of Oregon State University's Micro nutrient Information Center.
