Betty Lou Ammon

COBURG - A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, River Road, for Betty Lou Ammon of Coburg, who died July 21 of age-related causes. She was 79.

She was born Oct. 9, 1928, in Stewartsville, Mo., to Oscar and Bessie Smith Shoemake. She married Warren John Ammon on March 22, 1954, in Pacoima, Calif. He died April 3, 1977.

She worked as a medical assistant at Facey Medical Group in Granada Hills, Calif., for 35 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna Marie Newman of Harrisburg; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A son, Russell, died Oct. 30, 2005.

Arrangements by Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Springfield. Remembrances to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Joseph Boyer

SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. today, July 30, at Springfield McKenzie Eagles Lodge No. 1597 for Joseph Clifford Boyer of Springfield, who died July 25 of age-related causes. He was 77.

He was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Tiff, Mo., to William and Mary Warden Boyer. He served with the U.S. Army in England in 1952-54.

He was a millwright who worked for Georgia Pacific for 30 years and for Weyerhaeuser for six years. He helped build Dexter Dam.
