For most metal centers, efficiently creating, archiving and transmitting business-critical documents often presents significant challenges. Fortunately, new document management software applications offer flexible solutions for managing documents created internally by service centers, such as invoices and shippers, in addition to those generated externally by business partners, such as customer purchase orders, part drawings, etc.

Starting with the creation of an internal document via an order-entry program, current software may offer the ability to print the document using laser printers and transmit a professional looking form via the user's desired method, typically print, fax or e-mail.
