Mississippi has a treasure trove of natural beauty, fun and activities in the 25 state parks that dot the state, putting at least one within easy driving of all residents. With the trend of keeping this summer's vacations close to home, the public parks may be the answer for families looking for bargains.

That seems to be what many people are looking for this summer, according to Mark Griffin, division director with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.
