Retirement doesn't have to last.

I read a story recently about a wealthy physician who committed suicide a few months after retirement. He used a capable financial planner and his financial strategy for retirement was tuned up and ready to go. Early retirement with a huge unending stream of income that would enable him to do anything he wanted or allow him to do nothing at all if he So chose. In his suicide note he said that, 'Two months ago I was Dr. Jones. Now, I'm nobody."

I retired about a year ago. By the end of three weeks I knew that retirement, at least in the traditional sense, wasn't for me. With several significant differences, I was in Dr. Jones' shoes.
