Mary Rasmussen

VENETA - The graveside funeral was held Sept. 28 for Mary A. Tonole Rasmussen of Veneta who died Sept. 25 of age-related causes. She was 92.

She was born April 9, 1912, in Divide to Steve and Maggie Zinini Tonole. She married Gustaf "Gus" Berglund in 1929 in Cottage Grove. He died in 1939. She married Nate Rasmussen in 1969 in Eugene. He died in 1971.

She was primarily a homemaker who enjoyed music, dancing and playing piano. She was a member of the Eugene and Springfield Eagles lodges for many years.

Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Trauger of Elmira; two sons, Norman Berglund of Spokane and Edward Berglund of Elmira; a brother, Bonnie Tonole of Cottage Grove; a sister, Annette Henderer of Walterville; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grand- children; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Maxine Braley, died previously.

Burial was at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene. West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

William Sharr

SPRINGFIELD - A memorial service will be Sept. 29 for William Webb Sharr of Springfield who died Sept. 23 of age-related causes. He was 79.

Sharr was born Oct. 25, 1924, in Hinton, Iowa, to Jacob and Essie Sease Sharr. He married May Gnell Diggs on June 29, 1950, in Springfield.

He served in the Army during World War II. He moved to the Springfield area in 1930. He worked for Weyerhauser Co. for 35 years and was a television repairman for many years in Springfield. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kathy of Springfield and Karla Reeder of Bonita, Calif.; and one grandchild.

Today's service will be at 2 p.m. Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Caroline Fisher

The funeral will be Sept. 30 for Caroline Vera Fisher of Eugene who died Sept. 24 of age-related causes. She was 88.
