At the age of 35, veteran pole vaulter Derek Miles figured Sunday's competition at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials at breezy Hayward Field probably would be his last legitimate shot at making an Olympic team.

But if that's the case, where does that put 40-year-old Jeff Hartwig, who was competing in his fifth consecutive Trials, dating back to 1992?

Remarkably, both of those vaulters earned spots on the U.S. team that will compete in the Beijing Olympics in August.
