These days, at the Bijou Art Cinemas near downtown Eugene, not all the drama's up on the screen.

After more than a decade as the theater's cat-in-residence, it seems that Boo may be in danger of losing her longtime home.

A loyal but panicked Bijou patron named Mary first raised the alarm after noticing a pre-film message up on the screen, tucked in among the usual advertisements for hot, buttery popcorn and admonitions to turn off cell phones, please: Boo needs a new home.

She immediately e-mailed the newspaper, begging for a story "about the eviction of the cat, Boo, from the Bijou Theatre."
