With foreign currencies hitting record highs and fuel costs on the rise, heading to Europe becomes even more of a challenge for corporate travelers.

Two San Diego businessmen predict the overall rising travel costs associated with transportation fares, rental cars and overbooked flights will lead them, and likely other small business travelers, to scale back, and focus more of their travel budgets on essential business trips domestically. The travelers say they'll likely lean on other cost-effective ways of communication such as videoconferencing and teleconferencing as well.
