George Crampton
LOWELL - A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. today, May 31, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery for George Wilson Crampton of Lowell. He died May 28 of age-related causes at age 89. A reception will follow the service.
He was born June 25, 1918, in Appleton, Wash., to William and Cora Hays Crampton. He married Fern Lowman on Sept. 24, 1941.
Crampton was educated through the eighth grade and served in the Army. He worked as a sawyer at the Kimball Brothers Lumber Co. mill in Lost Creek.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn LaVezzo of Palo Alto, Calif., and Susan Crampton of Twisp, Wash.; a son, Gordon of Lowell; and one grandchild. His wife died May 3, 2005.
Inurnment will be today in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield.
Raymond Heidtke
SPRINGFIELD - Raymond L. Heidtke of Springfield died May 25 of liver disease. He was 68. No service is planned.
He was born Aug. 8, 1939, in Solon Springs, Wis., to Lewis and Margie Austin Heidtke. He married Sandy King in 1963 and they later divorced.
Heidtke at-tended Willamette High School. He was a stock-car race driver in the early 1960s.
He worked as a boilermaker for more than 30 years and was business manager for Local 401 in Eugene for four years. He retired in 1996.
