...Belleville-based FIS facility was the first be opened in September, 2007 and is under the command of Forensic Sergeant Dave Tovell.
Prior to the move, it was housed in the Belleville OPP detachment in cramped quarters that failed to suit the requirements of a modern day forensic facility. Serving a diverse region, the Belleville-based unit OPP has a unique character. Located in the city and adjacent to Highway 401, a major east-west provincial highway, the area is home to town and country residents as well as a summer cottage population, a military base and several federal corrections institutes.
