Normally not a source of much drama, this year's version of the Farm Bill passed by Congress has earned a status not many bills have the past seven years--a promise of a veto by President George W. Bush.

The Food Conservation and Energy Act of 2008 cleared both chambers of Congress two weeks ago, and by large numbers. House members voted 318-106 to send the bill to Bush's desk; the Senate did the same, by a margin of 81-15.
