Every tax season, CPAs hug their spouses and children, take one last look around the house and head to the office for a marathon stay. They often survive on quick naps, splash-and-dash showers, a bite or two of food at the desk and copious amounts of caffeine. It is just an occupational hazard that is unavoidable.

GranthamPoole Certified Public Accountants thinks not. This past tax season, the Jackson-based accounting firm struck on a "pioneering" plan--no one would work more than 40 hours per week.
