Move Update is the USPS initiative to reduce the amount of mail undeliverable as addressed (UAA) by providing ways for mailers to reduce the number of mail pieces requiring forwarding or return. The USPS offers several Move Update processes; they all involve comparing the mailer's address records with change-of-address orders filed with the USPS by individuals, families, and businesses.

Move Update standards have existed for quite some time for first class mail.
