CORVALLIS - Most of all, Sammie Stroughter is having fun.

Stretching during warmups, running routes against defensive backs during practice, doing extra conditioning after the organized workout ends, he's the life of spring practice at Oregon State.

"I'm just smiling and embracing everything and trying to enjoy college," Stroughter said.

Oh, is he ever in this do-over of his final college season, or "mulligan" as he recently termed it.

Stroughter should have been gone by now, selected by some team in last weekend's NFL draft, except he was granted another season of eligibility after his 2007 season was first delayed by his battle with depression, then halted by a kidney injury after he'd participated in only three games.

If all that was OSU's severe loss last season, having another year of Stroughter definitely puts the Beavers ahead as they...
