An Oakridge man was sentenced Tuesday to 15 years in prison for beating his 86-year-old mother to death in a drunken rage earlier this year.

Burt Clarence Hansen, 51, originally wascharged with murder in the Jan. 26 death of his mother, Evelyn Louise Hansen. He pleaded guilty last week to a lesser charge of first-degree manslaughter after negotiations with prosecutors....
