Joanne Funk
Joanne McElroy Funk of Eugene died April 25 of pneumonia at age 88. No service is planned.
She was born Nov. 27, 1919, in New York to Joseph and Katherine Kelly Mc-Elroy. She married David C. Moore on Aug. 13, 1943, in Yuma, Ariz. She married Charles Deane Funk on Dec. 6, 1952, in La Jolla, Calif.
Funk earned a bachelor of arts degree at the University of Southern California. She was an advertising executive and a medical writer and worked in public relations.
Survivors include a daughter, Anne Trefz of Irvine, Calif; five sons, David Funk of Eugene, Tom Funk of Lake Oswego, Avery Funk of Lake Forest, Calif., Deane Funk of Portland, and Robert Funk of Paia, Hawaii; sixteen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Terry Connelly, and a grandson, Thomas Mulholland Funk, died previously.
