The reviewed book is a doctoral thesis presented by Helene Egnell at the Department of Theology, University of Uppsala. Its aim is to study feminist approaches to interfaith dialogues and theology of religions. Egnell's focus is the feminist praxis and theology in the interfaith scene, mainly in Asia. To a lesser degree, she also deals with approaches in Western countries and other parts of the world. The volume contains altogether ten chapters. After the introduction, there follow three main parts (I. Possibilities of Praxis; II. Theoretical Challenges; III. Synthesis). The Appendix includes interview questions for the case studies and a very valuable and up-to-date bibliography.
Feminism as a term is not acceptable to all of the women engaged in bringing about change in society, religious institutions and interfaith dialogue.
