Gaslamp bids adios to Ole Madrid, Side Bar: economy, winter rains blamed for slowdown.

The 18-year-old Ole Madrid, one of the most popular nightclubs in the Gaslamp Quarter, was scheduled to close its doors March 29.

Ryan Dixon, one of three partners, including Jill Ealy and her brother John Ealy, who acquired the club in July 2003, said they were selling to Chandar Entertainment Services, which would be its fourth owner. Dixon declined to give details of the transaction, but said the new owners intend to change the club's concept and rename it.
