The 2007 Farm Credit Canada report showed that average Canadian farmland prices increased by approximately 11% in 2007. Saskatchewan showed a significant improvement increasing around 11% for the year compared with only around 2% in 2006.

Agcapita Farmland Investment Partnership L.P.("Agcapita") is Canada's only RRSP eligible farmland fund. "Food price increases are being driven by economic growth in the emerging economies, rising oil prices and slowing production growth for agricultural commodities" said Stephen Johnston, investment director for Agcapita.
