Goodyear claims it has overcome almost all the technical problems associated with runflat tyres. Joe Zekowski, head of Goodyear's technical centre in Luxembourg said, "we can deliver [RunOnFlat] tyres that are same comfort level as standard tyres." He said that Goodyear started delivering these tyres for testing at the main car makers in the second half of 2007, but the feedback from car makers has been very positive. He said Goodyear sold 2.5 m RunOnFlat units in 2007.

This claim that the latest runflats are as comfortable as conventional tyres is supported, even by the top German tuners. Peter Muller, head of product development for wheels and tyres at Mercedes tuner Brabus, told ERJ that he saw no technical problem with run flat tyres. He said Brabus does not use these products, but the reason for that was the lack of consumer demand. He repeated that he sees no technical reason why Brabus would refuse to fit runflat tyres to its vehicles.
