You'll forgive Michael Tedford for believing the movie he made was cursed.
The production, an artsy, 36-minute movie called "Maro," was completed, but not without some serious struggles.
Midway through filming, the producer up and quit. The composer left, too. During shooting, Los Angeles experienced monsoonlike rains. There were overages, delays and technical glitches.
Throughout the frustrating two-year process, Tedford's father, Roger, was instrumental in pushing his son to continue forward with his film. Not only did he loan him the $60,000 he needed to complete the project, but he also pushed him to see his vision through to the finish.
"I wanted to quit so many times," said Tedford, 29, who grew up in Eugene, graduated from Churchill High School in 1997 and now works as a cinematographer in Los Angeles.
"There were so many (problems) that came up ... but my dad was so stubborn, he just kept saying, `You gotta keep going.'?"
Roger Tedford was such an active force in the making of the movie...
