Holly and her dad are part of a national trend. More and more kids are living in families led by single fathers. Although the number of these families is still small, households led by single dads are the fastest-growing type of family in the United States. In 2006, there were about 2.5 million dad-led families, compared with 10.4 million families led by single mothers. The majority of U.S. children (67 percent) live in two-parent homes.
