Long-time American Council on Consumer Interests (ACCI) members may remember the 1977 Annual Meeting when Esther Peterson paid an unexpected visit to the Friday luncheon. Esther shared the head table with Julia, the recipient of that year's outstanding master's thesis award. That represented a fitting symmetry--the aging icon of the profession and the promising young graduate student: the accomplishments of the past and the hope for the future. Thirty years later, that promise has been realized. Were Esther Peterson to review Julia's accomplishments in the years since, she would surely say, "Good job, well done!"
