This issue marks a transition for the journal, wrapping up some loose ends from the previous administration and introducing the new editorial group of Andrew M. Butler, Michael Levy, and Sherryl Vint, along with book review editor Patricia Melzer. The new editorial group writes below about themselves and their ideas for the journal, but I'd like to take this opportunity to publicly thank them for agreeing to come on board and help steer Extrapolation into the foreseeable future. When Mack Hassler told me he planned to step away from his editorial duties after 2007, I immediately began to consider possible candidates that I could ask to join the journal. I wanted a group of people with a range of specializations and talents who could work together to create a space that would capture the intellectual diversity of our field. I hope future issues of the journal prove this group does just that. I'm excited to be working with them as we attempt to continue the fine work of our predecessors, Donald M. Hassler and Thomas Clareson.

Before passing you on to the new group, a brief note on my interests: My focus these days is on superhero comics, video games and gaming culture, and horror fiction, but my commitment to more traditional science fiction, especially pulp sf and the new space opera, is as strong as ever.
