ASHLAND - Of the 11 plays that make up this year's Oregon Shakespeare Festival, nine could be described as dramas about families: "The Comedy of Errors," "The Royal Family," "King Lear," two Henry VI plays, "Topdog/Underdog" (which closed Friday), "Oedipus Complex" (opens July 28) and "A Raisin in the Sun."
Of the nine, Lorraine Hansberry's beloved American classic is both the most narrowly focused and the most universal. Anyone can identify with the Younger family, struggling to get by and move forward in a supposedly open society where skin color is still a high hurdle.
