How does a venue extolling the virtue of innovative work sustain standards of excellence over a period of 25 years? If the Next Wave Festival is any indication, the answer is "not easily." Balancing loyalty to artists from around the world whose work has proven compelling in past festivals with a desire to expose new talent is a challenge that was readily apparent in this season's 25th anniversary showings.
