GOVERNMENT
David Sayen was named regional administrator of CMS Region 9, which includes Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and the Pacific territories. Sayen, 52, replaces acting Administrator Charlotte Yeh, who will return to her regular post of New England regional administrator in Boston. Yeh had been filling in since Jeff Flick left the CMS last August to join Blue Cross of California, a WellPoint subsidiary. Since 2002, Sayen has served as associate regional administrator for the CMS' Division of Medicare Health Plans Operations, leading private health-plan contract operations for Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D in Region 9, which is headquartered in San Francisco.
