Oregon wrestling makes its final appearance at McArthur Court this weekend, fittingly enough with the Ducks playing host to the Pac-10 Tournament one last time.Local efforts to save the sport have achieved national attention.

When wrestling supporters arrayed themselves in tie-dye and took Ken Kesey's Further bus down to the University of Oregon vs. Washington State University basketball game begging to be heard (Register-Guard, Feb. 17), an Associated Press reporter came along. The story ran in papers nationwide, even appearing in The New York Times.

Meanwhile, in the Feb. 22 Register-Guard, a guest viewpoint ran from local Oregon sports booster Steve Sylwester asking why the new baseball stadium was slated to have only 5,000...
