Mohawk begins its quest for a fourth state title in seven years this afternoon at Baker City High School.

The top-ranked Indians take a 23-5 record into their matchup with seventh-ranked North Clackamas Christian in the first round of the OSAA Class 1A boys basketball tournament at 1:30 p.m.

Mohawk won back-to-back titles in 2002-03 and now hopes to win consecutive championships again after claiming the title last season. Mohawk has reached the tournament seven times in eight seasons under coach Bart Rothenberger.

"Nobody is going over there with more state experience than us, and that is a positive thing,' Rothenberger said.
