February turned out to be yet another month of controversy for British politics. Although he has since resigned, Prime Minister Tony Blair was a seasoned expert when it came to deflecting the ire of those both inside and outside the Labour Party. Whether it was the continuing debacle of the Iraqi occupation, the endless sabre-rattling at Iran, or the anti-trade union laws maintained by his own administration against the British working class, Blair had proven himself to be an adept politician. And politicians are nothing if not good at enduring successive baptisms by fire at the hands of public opinion.

However, this time it was a little different. It is one thing for the Prime Minister to retain his generally smug and unconcerned persona in the face of anti-war activists...
