The annual meeting of the Tennessee Academy of Science (TAS) was held in Clarksville, Tennessee, 16-17 November 2006 on the campus of Austin Peay State University (APSU) with TAS President John W. Harris presiding. President-elect George Webb served as Program Chairperson. The APSU Local Arrangements Committee members were Dr. John Foote and Dr. Steve Hamilton.

The TAS Executive Committee met Thursday evening, 16 November 2006, in the Iris Room of the APSU University Center following a reception at historic Archwood, APSU President's residence, and dinner in the Iris Room. On Friday, 17 November 2006, the General Session, Annual Business Meeting, Symposium on Science and Global Security, luncheon, Poster Session, and technical section meetings were held in the APSU Sundquist Science Center. The General Session, held in the Sundquist Science Center Auditorium, began with a welcome from TAS President-elect George Webb, APSU Provost, Dr. Bruce Speck, and APSU Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics, Dr. Susan Calovini.
