Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up with what's happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder. We've got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we've got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, "Stay the course." (p. 3)
The book's title and the preceding quote alerts the reader that Iacocca's message is that the United States is without a leader and we, as citizens, must call forth leaders in 2008--be informed, be involved, be questioning citizens of this great country, and vote in 2008. Whether or not one agrees with Iacocca's political views, his points are worthy of consideration. His call for honor among heads of corporate America is equally worthy of consideration. University students and graduates will find his views consistent with discussions of leadership, communication, conflict, power, and social influence processes in management, psychology, and sociology classes across US universities.
