Karon Cox
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Eugene for Karon Rae Cox of Oak Hill, Va., formerly of Eugene. She died Jan. 19 of cancer at age 57.
She was born July 28, 1950, in La Junta, Colo., to Charles and Velma Higgs Cox. She married Charles Mason in June 1984 in Vienna, Va.
Cox graduated from Sheldon High School in 1968. She graduated from the University of Oregon in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in community service and public affairs. She worked for Psychiatric Rehabilitation Service.
Survivors include her parents; a son, Charles Mason of Oak Hill; and five siblings, Mary Mayer of Clackamas, Gary Cox of Tigard, Penny Saunders of Eugene, Jonell Whitley of Portland and Chyral Perez of Lebanon.
Arrangements by Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna.
Jesse Fowler
The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Restlawn Memory Garden in Salem for Jesse Walter Fowler of Eugene. He died Jan. 25 of Parkinson's disease at age 87. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at Restlawn Funeral Home, Salem.
He was born July 4, 1920, in Camden, N.J., to Lewis and Stella Chew Fowler. He married Anna Jean Baldridge on Oct. 25, 1980, in Newport.
Fowler had a high school education and served in the Navy from 1942 to 1945. He worked in sales for S&H Green Stamps for 30 years, retiring in 1983.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve of Yankee Hill, Calif., and Fowler of Kamuela, Hawaii; a daughter, Jan Zimmerman of Seattle; a stepdaughter, Gloria Barley of Springfield; two stepsons, Steven Hansen of Junction City...
