Joevan Catron felt like he was beaten.

That no head fake, no lowered shoulder, no spin move - and he has a beauty - was going to overcome this challenge.

His right foot hurt, and the doctors were offering possible solutions to relieve the pain.

"When they didn't know what I had really done and they brought up the word surgery, I kind of cried 'cause I didn't want to sit out the rest of the season," Catron said.

It only turned out to be a month of not playing for the 6-foot-6 sophomore, who has recovered enough from the torn plantar fascia in his right arch to return to the Oregon lineup. But it was a long month away from the court, before he played last week against UCLA and USC.
