Rozena Stonefield
The funeral will be held March 1 for Rozena Laura Stonefield of Eugene, who died Feb. 26 of age-related causes. She was 83.
Stonefield was born July 25, 1920, in Eugene. She married William "Bill" Stonefield in Florence on May 27, 1939. He died in 1997.
She lived in this area for 60 years. She resided in Florence, Seaside and Fortuna, Calif., before returning to Eugene.
She graduated from Siuslaw High School in Florence. She co-owned and operated the One O'Clock Market in Eugene. She was also a self-employed landlord of various rental properties.
She served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the One Niters and sang and performed in skits for residents of senior centers. Her interests included remodeling homes and she enjoyed reading and painting. She especially enjoyed her pets and her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Guse of Eugene; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Monday's service will be held at 2 p.m. at Rest-Haven Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene. Entombment will be at Rest-Haven Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to a humane society or an animal shelter of choice.
Helen James
Helen Elaine James of Eugene died Feb. 18 of lung disease. She was 80.
James was born Aug. 13, 1923, in Augusta, Kan., to Dennis and Lorene Ferrier Koons. She married Robert James in Bremerton, Wash., on May 19, 1947. He died Feb. 17, 2001.
She lived in Sherman, Texas, Omaha, Neb., and Bremerton before settling in Eugene 57 years ago.
She graduated from high school. She worked in the Bremerton Shipyards during World War II. She later worked for Pacific Northwest Bell.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, needlepoint, baking and playing bingo.
