SPRINGFIELD - When the League of Women Voters sent out invitations for its U.S. Senate debate, it snubbed Democrat Nancy Skinner, saying she didn't have enough support to be included.

In an effort to raise money for her cash-strapped campaign, Skinner, one of three women seeking the Democratic nomination, offered herself as a Valentine's date to whoever donated $1,000.
