On a recent flight headed for Washington, D.C., Lynn Johnson felt like she was being squeezed.

It wasn't because Lynn was stuffed into a seat designed to hold a 5-year-old, although that no doubt contributed to the problem. It was because she and her aircraft were sandwiched between two fighter jets who were escorting them into the D.C. airspace.
