Of all the dumb comments about the Bartman Ball promotion last week, the dumbest was that it was dumb.

The contention was it made Chicagoans look small-minded and Chicago look like Smalltown U.S.A.

All we can do is laugh at that, actually.

Most of the folks claiming we embarrassed ourselves on national television are people who came here from somewhere else or will leave here for somewhere else.

They simply don't get what we're all about.
