It's easy to pass up.

If it weren't for the tavern kiddy corner from the start of Thurnau Road, you might just breeze on by along Route 72, never guessing the gravel path is the beginning of one of the most scenic drives in Kane County.

There are no signs directing you to go down the mile and a half of dirt-and-gravel road, or hints of what lies over the shallow hills or around the gentle curves.
