Elderly deserve an affordable home

When my 82-year-old aunt could no longer live alone, I was more than dismayed over the lack of affordable or subsidized independent assisted living for someone with a meager Social Security income. Like the seniors in "One unit for 137 seniors" (Daily Herald, Feb. 16), she wanted to maintain her community ties as much as possible.
