New data presented at the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry annual meeting in Baltimore, Maryland, showed that treatment with Forest Laboratories' Namenda (memantine), in combination with Aricept (donepezil), improved behavioral disturbances in patients with moderate-to-severe Alzheimer's disease, compared to baseline. Forest obtained the exclusive development and commercialization rights to Namenda from Merz Pharmaceuticals in July 2000 (Marketletters passim).
