South Eugene made all six of its free throws in the final 33 seconds Saturday to hold off Lake Oswego 42-38 in the fifth-place game of the Interstate Shootout girls basketball tournament at Lake Oswego High School.

Sarah Whitfield scored 16 points to lead the Axemen (6-4), and Elyse Barnes, Olivia Roberts and Lacy Clark made two free throws each in the final half-minute for South Eugene.

Katie Childs scored 10 points for Lake Oswego, which led 15-6 after the first quarter but managed just eight points in the second and third quarters.

Auburn-Riverside 69, Sheldon 48: Katie Grad had 24 points, and Mercedes Wetmore added 17 to lead the defending Washington Class 4A state...
