EL PASO, Texas - Where Oregon and South Florida stand entering today's Sun Bowl might best be understood in terms of where they could be in eight months.

Each is picking up the pieces after a meteoric rise and catastrophic fall from the national elite this season. The 23rd-ranked Bulls, 9-3 entering today's 11:15 a.m. kickoff, seem well on their way to completing the rebuilding process. The Ducks (8-4) are still trying to figure out which tools they're going to use.

A win for the Bulls today would catapult them right back into the big picture...
