Group seeks expansion of aerotropolis

Planners of a Southeast Michigan aerotropolis have discussed looking farther westward into Washtenaw County, but that look is little more than a glance right now.

An aerotropolis district would make the airport area a hub for commercial development and logistics centers.

Washtenaw County Administrator Robert Guenzel and Deputy Director Dave Tyler of Wayne County's economic development department both said discussions in recent weeks have included expanding the boundary of the aerotropolis district under study westward to U.S. 23 in Washtenaw County.
